BUILDINGS DEPT. LACKS INSPECTORS DESPITE RECORD REVENUES

Despite record revenues, the city Buildings Department lacks the  manpower and funds it needs to keep the Bronx safe and up to code, local  officials charge.
The department raked in $164.9 million in fines and fees in fiscal year 2011, but spent only $99.6 million.

When potholes need fixing and apartment buildings need heat, Jeremy Warneke will be Community Board 11’s main man. The 30-year-old Warneke is the East Bronx board’s new district manager who already works and lives in the district.
